To me it is more than just the action and adventure of watching a horse show. It’s about seeing the dedication of riders to their horses and training. It’s the LOVE of the sport and these animals. To make art out of images in more than just that perfect show photo. The opportunities I get to have to capture images that are more than just the normal jump or flat image. Those hidden moments that are hidden just beyond the surface of life that captures the love of this sport in candid or special moments. I love getting to know competitors as more than just clients but as friends who I love cheering on and celebrating their success in and out of the ring. I know the dedication that it takes to do this sport well and the appreciation we have to have for the animals we compete with…..seeing smiles on faces and the glow of joy that radiates. Seeing competitors grow in the sport….children growing on their ponies…amateur’s celebrating their horses….parents and trainers beaming with pride. These are the moments that make long hours and hot days by the ring worth every second. Being able to capture images that can be timeless and priceless are what makes this a blessing in my own life.
